In their outstanding and hard-fought victory, the Ateneo Lady Eagles claim the throne over the De La Salle Lady Spikers with a final score of 2-1, earning their title of champion in the Game 3 of the renowned UAAP Season 76 WVT held in the Smart Araneta Coliseum at Cubao Quezon City, Manila, Philippines last Friday, November 14, 2025.

Their victory was not about being individually talented, but of displaying their win through collective effort, discipline and skill within their games and training. As of gaining the golden medal, they showcased their utmost determination into winning the crown, with their fierce offense and tight defense.

Alyssa Valdez, went all out from the elimination round up to the finals, solidifying her status as a legendary player earning the title of best scorer and server, with an impressive 269 points and 35 service aces along with Den-Den Alonzo with her outstanding performance of best digger and receiver that greatly contributed to their success.

As their first game commenced, De La Salle led 25-17, the Lady Spikers then unleashed a dominant edge of 25-23 and 25-13 surge in the second and third period fueled by the all-around brilliance of Team Captain Aby Marano and her accomplices, sweeping and leaving Ateneo in the brink of elimination with a score of 3-0.

However, the Lady Eagles quickly regained composure within the second game, with their team hitting crucial points with their fiery spikes and unmatched serves paired with their unwavering determination and strategic thinking, turning the tables and clean sweeping De La Salle 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-23).

This explosive run gave Ateneo a commanding lead, greatly boosting their confidence, winning them the last game with an empathetic score of 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-18).

This victory has made a great history for Ateneo, earning them their first ever win as the overall champion of college volleyball in the Philippines, breaking the four-peat dominance of De La Salle, ending their everlasting reign.
